Tanya Newell began working in the construction industry right after graduating high school when she joined Hammer Construction as an Office Manager. Two months after she joined Hammer, Hurricane Andrew battered South Florida and that is where Tanya’s career began as a skilled construction estimator under the tutelage of her father, Norm. During high school, she completed three years of architectural drafting and continued her education at Florida International University where she studied Construction Management.
Throughout her twenty-plus years at Hammer Construction, Tanya has traveled across various states where she has developed a specialized knowledge in catastrophe restoration having estimated and managed hundreds of residential, commercial and government projects notably during the 1994 Van Nuys, California Earthquake. Tanya led the company’s estimating team during the “infamous-four” hurricanes that pummeled Florida’s Treasure and West Coasts, better known as Jeanne, Francis, Charley and Ivan. Additionally, she has supervised and closed complex construction projects at Miami International Airport. Tanya is a Certified Mold Remediation Technician and holds a Contents Cleaning and Restoration Certification with RIA.
Tanya currently resides in Palm City, Florida, where she manages Hammer’s Treasure Coast operations.
